Scott is Excite Media’s Managing Director and enjoys working closely with the team to help grow SME businesses. He’s passionate about building a thriving team culture and making Excite Media a positive influence on everyone associated with it.

Scott gave up his dream of being an olympic athlete when he realised that he had no discernible sporting talent. Fortunately he’s found a rewarding role at Excite Media, where you’ll find him manning the BBQ, or working in the “Geek Zone” where he manages the technical team.

• Scott (along with 3 other Excite team members) broke a Guinness World Record for the longest ever darts marathon
• Scott’s “Useless Skill” is catching items that fall out of the fridge
• Scott’s hobbies include, drums, guitar, soccer, golf and speed-clicking.
• Scott’s car was once used in an ad! It was the ‘before’ image for a lottery advertisement.

Nathanael is our co-founder, who, along with Scott Maynard, has built Excite Media into one of Brisbane’s premier agencies over the past 15+ years. He is passionate about helping people (and businesses) discover what they want, why they want it, and how to achieve it.

• Nathanael loves writing and recording songs, and is the lead singer/guitarist of Alta Falls.
• Nathanael thinks he can predict the weather better than the professionals.
• Nathanael has a Masters of Information Technology and a Bachelor of Popular Music.

Chris is a founding member of the team – having experienced all that Excite Media has to offer from minute one of day one. With a background in Business Management, Chris has experience with companies like CBA, Ricoh and Collins Foods.

Chris is our lead fire-fighter, and can constantly be found supporting team members in any way possible. When he’s not doing this, he’s probably banging on about Collingwood – and that’s when we all tune out.

• Chris is part of the Excite Media team that broke the Guinness World Record for the longest ever game of darts.
• Chris is constantly reminded that he is a less successful human than Sam Burgess.
• Chris is the founder of the office saying: “a splash of flash”.

Building his first website in 1995, Andrew has always been an early adopter, integrating new technology solutions to solve business challenges. With years of experience in marketing, advertising, and broadcasting, our clients gain from Andrew’s work in both small business as well as national and international organisations.

You will get a burst of inspiration working with Andrew on new ways to stabilise or grow your business. Andrew says he likes to bring objectivity as well as vision to the table.

Karl has 7 years experience managing digital and broadcast media projects for Channel 10, ABC, Nine Network and various QLD State Departments. Karl also heads up our photography and videography team.

Karl came to Excite Media from the world of broadcast media, working with clients such as Channel 7, Network 10, ABC, and Screen Australia. Starting with the team as a Project Manager Karl has gone on to lead the Production and Digital Marketing teams.

• Karl lives the quiet life with his lovely wife and two cats; and like all good millennials, they treat their pets with a level of devotion usually reserved for royalty.
• In his spare time, Karl enjoys photographing wildlife; he’s currently chasing his own ‘white whale’, the perfect photo of a koala from his local bushland.

A resident Pom, Rebecca is our all-round busy-bee as our Operations Manager, with also previously leading our SEO team and working in our Production team. No stranger to juggling multiple things at once, Rebecca simultaneously completed a Diploma of Event Management, Associate Degree in Theology, Bachelor of Business and a Bachelor of Creative Industries in four years. She also completed her Masters of Digital Communication in December 2021, with her thesis project testing the effectiveness of AI copywriting systems against human copywriters.

• Rebecca has travelled to 40 countries
• Rebecca has seen over 45 musicals live, including visiting Broadway and the West End
• Rebecca can play clarinet, piano and has her teaching qualification for voice
• Rebecca can fit 16 marshmallows in her cheeks

Ben’s our Creative Director with 22 years experience in web, UI/UX and digital marketing for companies like Peta Jean Bradley, MTV, Seagate, SAP and eBay.

Ben has founded numerous successful startups, and knows how to get results through design.

• Ben has a lot of guitars, a collection that doesn’t seem likely to stop anytime soon.
• Ben is tragically addicted to Formula One, and one day dreams of following the championship around the world for a year.

Shane has been with Excite Media for all 14 years of his Digital Marketing career! If you’re after a strong relationship with your Account Manager, he’s your guy. He’s got experience working with businesses of all shapes and sizes.

• Shane loves cycling and gets out on the road as often as he can, although it’s still never enough.
• Shane also loves camping with his family. The struggle to balance his passions of cycling and camping is real.
• Shane is a big music fan. He listens to a wide array of tunes and loves music facts, but when he gets hold of the office Spotify look out, it’s gonna be heavy!

Laura heads up our SEO and copy teams, supporting our specialists to deliver amazing work for our clients. She loves writing creative content, developing strategic SEO and PR campaigns, and helping our clients get more business online.

• Outside of the Excite building, Laura can usually be found at a concert, shooting hoops or smashing smash burgers and milkshakes.
• She moonlights as a music journalist and spends too much time bingeing music poddies.
• Laura has a Bachelor of Journalism with a Creative Writing minor from QUT and is Hubspot-certified in Inbound Marketing.

Jonathan is a Project Manager at Excite Media with a combined 20 years experience in design, print and web, managing projects for such companies as Domain, Ray White, PRDnationwide and Harcourts.

Jonathan has Diplomas in Graphic Design, Software Development, Animation & Illustration.

• Jonathan wants to open a bar called ‘Beats, Bourbon, BBQ and Beards’ where he is in control of the playlist, dammit!
• Jonathan co-created a children’s book series and merchandise line that is gathering virtual dust.
• Jonathan has the greatest idea for a combined drive-thru takeaway and carwash concept.“Would you like fries with that polish and wax?”

A customer service legend by day, Mikey is a massive basketball fan that follows the mighty Denver Nuggets. Besides playing guitar in his spare time, Mike loves travelling overseas and enjoying beers and board games with friends.

• After years of experimentation, Mikey believes to have discovered the ultimate gourmet nachos recipe.
• Mikey’s favourite whiskey is Oban.
• Mikey dreams of a day where everyone has watched his two favourite TV shows: Southland & Justified.
• Mikey has a Graduate Diploma of Information Technology and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sound Design.

Andrew has been working online almost since before there was an online. With more than 20 years of web development and online marketing experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge to the Excite Media team and is our go-to problem solver.

• Andrew grew up in outback Queensland, before moving to the big smoke to attend uni at QUT.
• Andrew regularly questions his humanity, being incapable of completing a CAPTCHA on the first try.
• Andrew recently became a dad, after years of practice as a dad to two labradors.
• Andrew has been a volunteer firefighter for more than 15 years.

Jason brings 15 years of business development with some of Australia’s largest companies including Hastings Deering, Transfield, QUT, Terrex, National Dental Care, Curragh Mine and Redland City Council.

When not helping our clients to plan and execute on cutting edge digital strategy, Jason can be found trolling the rivers in his kayak on the hunt for a variety of fish species. A keen heavy metal fan, Jason mixes the best of both worlds into his fishing videos.

• Jason taught Andrew “Joey” Johns to do “The pump” (dance move).
• Jason once gave Larry Emdur directions and told him to “Come on down!…that road there and follow it all the way to Swansea” – He wasn’t impressed.
• Unlike most people, Jason once paid money to see Limp Bizkit.

When it comes to her role in Excite, Jess is a bit of an all-rounder. From web design to copywriting, Jess brings her A-game to every task thrown her way. She also takes this dedication into her work outside Excite — currently, she’s in the process of completing her fourth year at QUT for her Bachelor of Business (Marketing) & Bachelor of Games & Interactive Environments (Animation) double degree.

• • Jess is a huge video game nerd. She especially likes Skyrim, Insomniac’s Spider-man trilogy, the Spyro series, God of War, and survival single-player games like Subnautica and Raft.
  • Jess is all about creativity and passion. Whether it’s digital art, sculpting, video editing, songwriting, or just about any other creative endeavour under the sun, she’s dabbled in it all!
  • Ambition might as well be Jess’ middle name. She’s always got some project or another on the go. Right now, that’s completing and publishing her first book, Novelty Circus!

Ash has years of customer service experience across a wide range of industries. After leaving the Veterinary world, she decided to peruse her interest of coding and website/app development.

When she’s not working she’s at the gym, playing golf, or maintaining her Stardew Valley farm.

• Ash’s pride and joy is her cat, Angus, however he is quite literally allergic to himself, which keeps her busy.
• Ash loves to read; fantasy fiction is her jam.
• Ash has a degree in Veterinary Technology and Diploma in Information Technology.

Matt is Excite Media’s Customer Experience Manager. At Excite Media, we pride ourselves on giving our clients an extraordinary customer experience – Matt is responsible for bringing this together! When he’s not at work, he is busy as a professional musician.

Matt is a Project Manager here at Excite Media and works hands-on with our clients to ensure that their projects are delivered successfully, smoothly and completed on time. When he’s not managing projects, he is busy managing his music career spending time songwriting, recording, gigging or cleaning his Nord and Fender Rhodes keyboards.

• Matt has the record for the lamest dad jokes in the office.
• Matt also enjoys cycling and you’ll usually find him out on the Brisbane river loop!

Alicent (or Ali) is an Account Director at Excite Media who loves running, interior design, music, the great outdoors and all things sci-fi. Born and bred a Singaporean, Ali has lived in Sydney for the past 15 years and co-owned a digital agency with her husband until recently relocating her family to sunny Brisbane.

• Ali’s retirement dream to go on a foodie tour all around the world with her husband.
• The movie star that Ali idolises the most is Audrey Hepburn.
• Ali has a weakness for anything pickled and dark, dark chocolate.
• Ali is also a bit of a tea snob and loves cooking and eating!

Tess is a marketer, maker and Mother. Tess began marketing for a not for profit community group back in 2008. Marriage, two kids, a long stint in the corporate world and countless marketing campaigns later, she still loves what she does and is passionate about delivering real value to her clients.

When she’s not marketing or thinking about marketing, Tess can be found with her family, sewing, reading, writing, gardening, creating something or in a teardrop camper for a weekend in one of the many gorgeous SE Qld National Parks.

• Tess has two bachelor degrees, one with an Economics major and the other in English Literature. Her honours thesis was on John Milton’s poem, ‘Paradise Lost’.

Sam is an SEO & Facebook Specialist/Assistant/Provider of Popcorn with a background in Content Marketing. Sam loves the technicalities involved in Digital Marketing, and gets excited when she finds a new keyword for her clients.

• Sam is a huge movie fan, and usually listens to movie soundtracks to concentrate when working, which is usually Harry Potter, or Nicki Minaj (not a movie soundtrack but should be?). There is no in-between.
• Sam’s favourite skill is remembering the lyrics to pretty much every song she has ever heard, but her favourite to recite in the car is Nicki Minaj’s ‘Super Bass.’
• Sam is a constant learner, and has a degree in Psychological Science with First Class Honours, and is currently studying Digital Communication.

Nick is an Account Manager with over 7 years experience in countless SEO, social media advertising, CRO, and UX projects. On weekends (and Wednesdays), you’ll either find him hiking, surfing, or cycling outdoors… or 10 hours deep into a PlayStation marathon.

• Nick loves solving problems, and has degrees in Aviation, Business (Advertising), and is currently studying Industrial Design.
• Nick is a huge believer in the Thomas Huxley quote “try to learn something about everything, and everything about something,” which is why he has so many hobbies that he’s not good at
• Nick has a knack for remembering (and inserting into conversation) the most obscure lines from nearly every movie he has watched
• Nick loves modifying and tinkering with anything that he can get his hands on – cars, bikes, watches, Ikea furniture, and phone operating systems are all fair game.

A kiwi that’s spent more of her life in Australia. They say “You gotta have Faith” and well- that’s true. With a background in Real Estate sales and NGO fundraising, Faith has a passion for getting the job well done and helping others achieve their goals.

• Faith owns over 100 pairs of shoes
• Faith loves to sing and she’s pretty good at it
• Faith may or may not have eaten a cockroach as a baby
• Faith is the proud mum of one BEAUTIFUL baby boy (not biased at all 😉 )

Ed’s dream job was to be a sports journalist, which he kind of achieved straight out of uni by landing a handful of shifts at Sky Sports in the UK. However, his professional background is mostly in sports social media. Despite an awesome career getting paid to watch sport, Ed caught the travel bug and left the UK, eventually making it to Australia and settling in Brisbane. He now values his weekends too much to ever want to “work” them in the name of football again!

Ed switched Facebook for Google during the pandemic, developing his love for SEO while starting his own website.

• Ed grew up in Worcestershire – yes, like the sauce!
• Ed loves cycling – he once cycled from Brisbane to Melbourne with 3 English mates who underestimated the size of Australia! All in the name of charity.
• Ed once went to 6 countries in the same day!
• Continuing the Excite Media darts theme, Ed has interviewed 4 world champion darts players.

*Those countries were the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Germany, and Switzerland for those playing at home.

Jordie is our coffee addicted designer, who loves to create practical and elegant designs for our clients. Besides spending time with her two dogs Pixie and Wilson, Jordie is also a serious gamer who can’t get enough of Japanese culture and design.

Jordie has a knack for being able to create elegant, engaging and highly effective website designs for our clients. Skills which she has learned from some of her studies in the industry.

• Bachelor of Arts – Majoring in Interactive and Visual Design
• Certificate III in design fundamentals
• Jordie is an avid Final Fantasy fan.
• Jordie is still half-heartedly trying to learn Japanese. Kon-ni-chi… ahh forget it…

Sophie has seven years’ experience in the media industry with a background in sales and working across agencies specialising in both the offline and digital spaces. Sophie is a people person and graduated with a Bachelor of Communications Majoring in Public Relations.

Outside of work you’ll find her training at the gym, at the beach, fishing for barra, or hiking.

• Sophie works remotely from the Sunshine Coast and is addicted to a daily dose of the ocean and loves a good sunset.
• She also loves her caffeine and fuels her addiction with at least two strong coffees a day.
• Sophie loves to play piano and practices whenever she can fit it in.

With a background in marketing, Cat has experience in automotive, events, travel, charity, SME, and professional services sectors. Cat loves working with small businesses and has found her place helping them kick their digital marketing goals.

• Cat holds a MSc in Marketing and is forever learning.
• Cat is an Irish girl living in Sydney with her Italian hubby and bambino
• Cat was living in Italy but got bored of the food and moved back to Sydney – variety is the spice of life!
• With a young family, Cat’s favourite hobbies include going for a long run on her own, hiding in the shower and washing her hair.

Lorien is our jack-of-all-trades champion, helping the team wherever she can. Graduating with a dual degree in Business Management and Creative Industries from QUT, Lorien is able to combine her creative flair with her efficient, can-do attitude to provide our production team with all the support they could ever need.

• Lorien likes to think that she knows all the lyrics to any song by Taylor Swift, but definitely knows all the words to the Hamilton soundtrack.
• When she’s not at work, you’ll catch her on the hunt for the best eggs benedict in Brisbane or at a park with an iced latte in one hand and a good book in the other.
• Lorien is also an avid crime show watcher and is slowly but patiently working her way through all of them.

To say Helen has a passion for websites would be an understatement, as she has been designing, building and managing them for almost 20 years. Helen enjoys working with clients to find the best solutions for their business, combining her creative and logical sides.

• In her spare time, you will often find Helen tinkering with her own websites, testing out new features and tech, investigating domain names or reading about WordPress. We weren’t kidding about the whole website love part.
• Helen adores dogs and has two blue Australian Cattle Dogs, Tessa and Dash. You will often find her and her English fiancé out and about West End and South Bank with them for a casual 10km walk and an ice cream in the park.
• Helen is a big sci-fi and fantasy fan. She loves Lord of the Rings and is also quite partial to the Star Trek and Marvel universes.

Beyond the screen, Lily’s time is split between her puppy; Goose, cafes, nature walks, and catching up with friends and family. Growing up in Brookfield, Lily has a fondness for the western suburbs and love that she gets to not only work with a local agency but with local clients too. With a degree in Business, Majoring in Marketing, she brings a strategic mindset to her role as an SEO Specialist!

• With a family history in timber, architecture and interior design has been a big part of Lily’s upbringing and developed her love for both.

Emma is an Account Manager with experience in SEO, SEM, branding, social media and digital marketing. Taking her career to the next level, she recently graduated with a double degree in Business (Marketing) and Fine Arts (Film, Television and New Media) from QUT, and she is no stranger to combining both her creative and analytic sides. On weekends you will find her following one of her many passions… or catching up on the latest true crime documentary.

• Emma runs a food blog Lights, Camera, BAKE! where she shares her baking recipes.
• Emma is a film buff… And a passionate filmmaker, she has made a number of short films, advertisements and music videos.
  – Emma has convinced herself chocolate is a salad.
• Emma is a big horror fan.
• Emma is always up for an adventure…. This week parasailing!

Nerida is super passionate about all things creative: writing, content, marketing and digital. Specialising in copywriting, website user experience and digital marketing, Nerida get her kicks from writing killer copy for clients and seeing that translate into tangible results.

Over the past 11+ years, Nerida has worked with clients and businesses across industries and sectors, in the specialty areas of copywriting, content marketing, website conversion optimisation, web user experience, digital ads, SEO, digital marketing, social media, marketing strategy, and even voiceovers, audio production, and broadcast media.

Outside of the office, Nerida can be found:

• Out and about at open mics and gigs.
• Playing guitar and singing to anyone who will listen.
• Performing at restaurants and cafes.
• Out on the football fields trying to “become pro” at Touch Rugby League.
• Living her best life – which sometimes involves dressing up as a princess, just because.

Jacob is our Facebook Ad’s guru who brings years of digital marketing experience. With a strong focus on client results, Jacob knows what it takes to help clients get the most out of their digital marketing budget.

Nathanael is passionate about helping businesses and organisations dream big and succeed. His weapon of choice is digital marketing. When Nathanael isn’t meeting with clients or learning more about business and marketing, he can be found writing songs or playing in his band.

• Jacob has a Bachelor In Business (Marketing) and is Google Ads & Facebook certified
• Jacob’s entrepreneurial thinking & marketing skills have led to him building & selling 3 successful businesses
• Jacob also has an identical twin brother who is much cooler than him

Zoe is our head number cruncher here at Excite Media, taking care of all the accounting and payroll and keeping everyone else in line. When not balancing ledgers, Zoe spends time with her three boys, sewing, reading or doing yoga.

• Zoe was born in Western Australia and will always be a West Aussie at heart.
• Zoe is a bit of a Disney Dork & would love to go to Disneyland one day.
• Zoe just celebrated her 10 year wedding anniversary in the Maldives.

Erinna works as part of the accounts team as well as the digital marketing team as an SEO specialist. She started her Excite Media journey back in 2011 learning the SEO ropes, then joined the accounts team in 2015. Erinna is also a registered nurse but decided to switch careers in 2015 to work at Excite Media.

Outside of work you’ll find her wrangling/cleaning up after her three young boys, creating far too many Pinterest boards about interiors and trying to keep fit with personal training and yoga.

• Erinna believes she’s a ping pong pro, but hasn’t managed to beat anyone at the office (yet).
• Erinna is married to Scott, Excite Media’s Managing Director. They first met at high school in 1995, where they were in the same grade 8 form class.
• Erinna went to kindergarten with Excite’s General Manager, Chris Taylor. They were also in the same grade 8 form class with Scott.
• Erinna has been dreaming of travelling to Switzerland ever since she did a school project about it in grade 6.

In the final semester of his Bachelor of Business (Marketing) degree, Alan joined Excite Media’s SEO internship program, showcasing his commitment to continuous learning and hands-on experience. He now works with both the SEO and Web Projects teams, leveraging his sharp analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail to guide clients towards their SEO and website objectives. He

In the final semester of his Bachelor of Business (Marketing) degree, Alan joined Excite Media’s SEO internship program, showcasing his commitment to continuous learning and hands-on experience. He now works with both the SEO and Web Projects teams, leveraging his sharp analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail to guide clients towards their SEO and website objectives.

Having studied multiple languages throughout his education, Alan aspires to become a polyglot (currently speaks Vietnamese and French). His life-changing and immersive semester abroad in Paris ignited his passion for living and working all around the world.

• Alan’s next language of choice is Spanish.
• Alan’s all-time favourite drink is a jug of red sangria.
• Outside of work, Alan enjoys unwinding at the beach and dining out with mates at somewhere they probably saw on TikTok.

Hung is our front-end programming guru, who spends the majority of his time converting our website designs from concepts through to working websites. He also specialises in creating mobile friendly responsive versions of our client’s websites.

• Hung spends his free time with his family, playing chess and shopping.
• Hung’s favourite sports are of Soccer and Badminton.
• Hung’s all time favourite movies are The Gods Must Be Crazy or anything by Charlie Chaplin

Janalee is a Web Developer whose role focuses mainly on converting PSD designs to responsive WordPress sites and fixing websites for minor issues/revisions. Outside work you’ll find her eating, lying on her bed sleeping or playing with her nieces and nephews.

• She loves wandering in different places in search of something new, bizarre and wonderful
• She dreams of going skydiving someday

Maria is our go-to print designer and spends her days preparing elegant layouts for business cards and stationery, magazine ads, brochures, newsletters, packaging, signage and pretty much anything that can be printed!

• Maria lives with her husband, four kids and her daughter’s cat Coco.
• Maria’s nickname ‘Rio’ has stuck with her since childhood.
• As a child, Maria was scared of butterflies.
• Maria is currently trying to give up coffee.

Jamie is our local Google Ads strategist. When he’s not thinking about numbers and ways to improve results for clients he enjoys playing a range of board, card and computer games or is busy hosting dinner parties and feeding guests a feast of ribs and burgers.

• Jamie has explored nine different countries and rates them by quality of their food and arcade games.
• Jamie is an avid tennis player and hits the court whenever he can.

Steph has a degree in Digital Media Design and has worked in several design and marketing roles, including Web Designer, Project Manager, Graphic Designer and SEO Specialist.

• Steph is from the UK but loves to travel and spent three months living in Spain, followed by a solo adventure backpacking East Coast Aus where she found Excite Media.
• When Steph is not working or out in nature exploring, she’ll be practising her drawing skills on her iPad, creating digital art.
• Steph doesn’t like cheese… not even on pizza! 🤯
