Small Business Adaption Grant Program – Round 2

The objective of this program is to support small businesses subject to closure or highly impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) shutdown restrictions announced by the Queensland Government, to adapt and sustain their operations, and build resilience.

Funding available: up to $10,000 AUD

Funding for:

  • financial, legal or other professional advice to support business sustainability and diversification
  • strategic planning, financial counselling or business coaching aligned to business development and diversification
  • building the business through marketing and communications activities, for example, content development (web pages, mobile apps, visual and audio media etc.)
  • digital/technological strategy development
  • digital training or re-training to adapt to new business models
  • capital costs associated with meeting COVID-19 safe requirements
  • specialised digital equipment or business specific software to move business operations online (e.g. logistics program for online ordering)
  • meeting business costs, including utilities, rent.

New South Wales

City of Sydney “Quick Response” Grant

To help individuals and organisations through the Covid-19 pandemic, we’re releasing an extra $500,000 in quick response grants. These are rolling grants – there is no application deadline.

Funding available: up to $5,000 AUD
Funding for: Feeding vulnerable community members, providing digital assistance to vulnerable community members, helping vulnerable community members feel connected, strengthening community support networks, delivering performances, creative work and classes online and helping businesses to continue to trade.

Small Business COVID-19 Recovery Grant

If your small business or not-for-profit organisation has experienced a decline in turnover as a result of COVID-19, you may be eligible for a small business recovery grant of between $500 and $3000.

This grant helps small businesses meet the costs of safely reopening or up-scaling operations.

Funding available: between $500 and $3,000 AUD
Funding for: Fit-out changes and temporary physical changes (for example, plastic barriers at checkouts), staff training and counselling, business advice and continuity planning, cleaning products and additional cleaning services, additional equipment necessary to comply with social distancing or other public health measures, marketing, communications and advertising, digital solutions (for example, e-commerce or business websites).

Bankstown Smart City Smart Business Grant

In order to deliver additional direct support to businesses, Council has allocated a total pool of $250,000 which will be distributed as grants to assist businesses to develop and/or improve their e-commerce capabilities and online marketing. These Smart City Smart Business Grants are being made available through a streamlined application process and will offer dollar for dollar funding up to a maximum of $2,000, to businesses with a turnover below $5M.

Funding available: up to $2,000 AUD
Funding for: Developing a new website, improving an existing website, developing an online catalogue or sales capability, purchase of specific and dedicated software (not hardware) to improve your online capability, undertaking paid online and social media advertising, and; develop an online ordering system and/or service for your product or services.

South Australia

$10,000 Emergency Cash Grants for Small Businesses

Small businesses and not-for-profit entities that employ South Australians who have been highly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic may be eligible to receive a $10,000 grant to support the operation of their business.

The grant is being funded from the State Government’s $650 million Jobs Rescue Package.

Funding for: Supporting the operation of your business.

Northern Territory

Small Business Survival Fund

The Jobs Rescue and Recovery plan’s Small Business Survival Fund is a $50 million initiative to help Territory small businesses survive the physical distancing requirements in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Funding available: Between $2,000 AUD and $50,000 AUD (plus additional cash boosts and support payments)
Funding for: The immediate survival payment provides an initial lump sum directed to businesses to help offset immediate cost pressures and provide time to plan.

Small Business Emergency Support Grant Round 2

To ensure that we continue to be responsive to the current gaps and needs of Tasmanian small businesses, further support is available for Tasmanian businesses through the extension of the Small Business Emergency Grants.

Round 2 of the Emergency Support Grants with grants of $2,500 available to those businesses under severe hardship and who have not yet received funding under the first round.

Grants of $15 000 will be available and applications will be accepted from businesses that employ fewer than 50 FTEs.

Hobart eCommerce Support Grant

The City of Hobart offers business grants designed to assist small business as well as the wider community by providing financial assistance for marketing activities.

Funding available: up to $300 AUD
Funding for: This funding is to cover the equivalent of approximately 6 months of fees for an ecommerce platform.

Other Financial Assistance

Google “Free Ad Credits” for Small Business Program

Google are giving SMBs worldwide $340 million in ad credits, which can be used at any point until the end of 2020 across our Google Ads platforms.

Funding available: The ad credit amount will vary by customer based on past Google Ads spend, and the country and currency where the business and Google Ads account is set up.
Funding for: This is an ad credit for future Google Ads spend.
Application deadline: No application required ✅ You will automatically be notified if you’re eligible, starting in late May 2020.

Facebook Small Business Grants Program

Facebook is offering $100M in cash grants and ad credits for up to 30,000 eligible small businesses in over 30 countries where they operate. 

Funding available: Full details haven’t been made available yet.
Funding for: Keeping your workforce going strong, help with your rent costs, connecting with more customers and covering operational costs.
Application deadline: No application required ✅ You can get notified when the grant is available in your location.

MessageMedia’s Small Business Grants aim to give a boost to small businesses with a prize package that includes free financial support and free messaging services. 

Funding available: $2,200 AUD
Funding for: Messaging services to help drive new sales, improve customer service, collect feedback, connect with communities and more.
