Case Study: Turning searches into support at Coolangatta Psychology

Time to read: 3 minutes

We started managing Google Ads for Coolangatta Psychology back in August 2025, and since then, the account has gone from strength to strength.

Enquiries are up, some of the strongest months we’ve seen have landed recently, and the cost of bringing in each new enquiry has dropped significantly along the way.

And it hasn’t come from simply pouring more money into the account. It’s been a constant process of watching what people are searching for, refining where the budget goes, and making regular tweaks
to keep the campaigns working harder.

Searching online for a psychologist has become a pretty normal first step for people looking for support, and on the Gold Coast, there are plenty of practices competing to show up when they do.

New clinics are opening, established practices are growing their teams, and more of them are turning to Google Ads to reach the same pool of people searching nearby. For Coolangatta Psychology, that meant there was real opportunity to grow, but also a lot more competition for attention.

The aim was to get Coolangatta Psychology in front of the right people at the right moment, and turn more of those searches into enquiries without letting the cost creep up.

That’s meant keeping a close eye on the account rather than setting it up and hoping for the best. We’ve refined keywords, tested different ad copy, and adjusted where the budget is going based on what each month’s data has been telling us.

All those little adjustments have started to add up, with more enquiries coming through at a lower cost.

A busier market for mental health support

Back in August 2025, when we took over, the account brought in 47 conversions at $59.30 each. Fast forward to March 2026, and that had climbed to 83 conversions at just $28.22, the best month the campaign has had so far, and less than half the cost per conversion of where things started.

Clicks stayed pretty similar across that stretch, 652 in August 2025 and 666 in March 2026, so it wasn’t a case of throwing more traffic at the problem. The account got better at turning the traffic it already had into enquiries.

Averaged out across the ten months from August 2025 to June 2026, cost per conversion came in at $37.15. That’s a strong position to be in when you look at how psychology campaigns tend to perform nationally. Recent industry benchmarking shows Australian psychology practices commonly bringing in somewhere between 8 and 20 enquiries a month, and Coolangatta Psychology’s cost per conversion is landing well inside the efficient end of that range.

It hasn’t been a perfectly straight climb. Some months are naturally busier than others, but when you look at the full ten months, the overall direction is pretty clear. More conversions at a lower cost than when we started. Something we absolutely love to see 🎉

What it means for the practice 🌿

For a practice that’s already busy meeting demand for its services, this kind of result means enquiries keep coming in from people who are ready to book, without the ad spend having to work overtime to get them there. And for the team, that means they can stay focused on the people they’re there to support, while the ads keep working behind the scenes. Results like these have come from consistently checking, refining and improving the account over time.

Curious how your own Google Ads stack up? We’d love to take a look and walk you through what’s possible 👋
