Changes to Facebook business pages
Facebook loves keeping us on our toes! You may have heard about the changes to business pages. On March 30 2012 all pages will automatically get upgraded to the new Facebook Timeline, whether you like it or not!
Major changes include:
Your tabs will change
The layout of your page will change
People can now send messages to pages
There will be a new admin panel
1. Cover Photo
Every page will now have this amazing space in which to showcase a cover image. This means you need a cover image.
Facebook is quite strict with what you can and can’t include. Click here to see the guidelines.
2. The layout of your tabs will change
The size of the new tabs is much wider, and the way they open is different. Check out Red Bull’s TV tab below:
3. Default Landing Tabs are Gone
Facebook has removed the ability to create a default landing tab. However, you can still create fan gates.
4. Photos, Likes, and Apps at Top of Page
Photos, likes and apps now appear at the top of your Page. Photos show in the first spot, but you can change the order of everything else so people see what matters most. You can show a maximum number of 12 apps.
5. Fan Page Messages
Now people can contact you privately using messages. Notifications about new messages will appear right in your admin panel.
